The church year ending in September of 2007 has been a good one for new starts in the Jacksonville Baptist Association. Four new starts have been reported for the year: Faith Family Fellowship, Randy Wilson, pastor; Shades of Grace Community Church, Dwayne Shepherd, pastor; The North Church, Tim Regal, pastor; True North Church, Jeremy Blythe, pastor.
Among the exciting things that have been happening in church planting in this association is the growing number of ethnic churches. In recent years, in addition to Hispanic and African American churches, we now have several Haitian churches, an Ethiopian church, an Asian India Church, a Romanian church, Korean churches, a Cambodian church, a Brazilian church.
Our greatest need in church planting is for existing churches to make worship space available for these new churches until they can secure a place to meet. Should your church be willing to help in this manner, please contact Art Taylor, New Work Director at your earliest opportunity.
Pray for these new congregations and their pastors. Invite them to speak in your worship services. I will gladly share their names and phone numbers.
